About this Entry
RPG Maker
Coat Pockets: Deep Pockets
Basic concept: An RPG that is plot-wise unrelated to SCPBE, except for featuring some of the same characters. The game centers on a huge tower with mission-based objectives and exploring. The ultimate goal is stated to be to get to the final floor of the tower.
Gameplay: After a completely unrelated fake introduction the player is in the town of Solestia, which contains the tower. In the town, the player can accept missions to explore the tower and find an item, defeat an enemy, etc. The player may also enter and explore the tower without a mission. The player characters used are determined by the mission or, if no mission is taken, by the player’s choice.

Tower / plot: The tower has about 10 to 15 floors going upwards. Once the player reaches the roof, a plot event unlocks going downwards through the “basement” which continues for a greater number (50?) of floors. The floors are not randomly generated each time. The tower may also contain small side dungeons.

On certain floors of the tower there will be warp rooms which allow you to warp to other warp rooms in the tower, heal, and save your progress. Progress may also be saved in town.

The game begins in grayscale, as do the player characters. Once the player reaches the top of the tower, they activate a prism which introduces color. This introduces elements and the “second form” of the player characters into the game:

1st form: Greyscale, no elemental affinity; 2nd form: Shaded in the color of their new element; 3rd form: Full color, most power.

In addition, the 1st form characters reset to level 1 upon entering the tower each time, and the 2nd form characters reset to a higher level. 3rd form characters’ levels do not reset.

Elements:

The elements are the primary and secondary colors (Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Red, Orange). Complimentary colors are super-effective against each other (yellow and purple, green and red, orange and blue). Each element represents certain things and status effects:

Yellow: Air/Lightning, stun and paralyze. Green: Wood/Earth, sleep. Blue: Water/Ice, silence (and possible instant death). Purple: Science!, poison. Red: Fire, berserk/confuse. Orange: Sun/Light, blind. Status Up/Down are non-elemental and in three levels (small, medium, large).

PCs:
Quick list: Shagg, Trynn, Kit(fox), Vuley, Noisee (Hazel?), Ian / Unlockables: Kyle, Roahm, Pink, Nick, Larry, Sandy, Bert (maybe Nago)

Shagg:

Weapon: Staff
Element: Green (weak to Red)
Party role: Blue Mage. Enemies may drop items which teach Shagg skills.
Personality: Shagg-like. Easily confused. May repeat stuff as questions like Snake.
Abilities: Beyond blue magic, has some basic moves similar to SCPBE: a weak stun, the ability to enrage himself, a heal and some kind of magic attack.
Stats: Average. VERY average.

Trynn:

Weapon: Scissors / Daggers
Element: Purple (weak to Yellow)
Party role: Black Mage. Very focused on magic attack at the expense of other stats. Quite squishy.
Personality: Robotic and focused on statistics and probabilities. Also sarcastic.
Abilities: Mostly offensive magic, in several levels, but not from all elements. Also some interesting support spells such as Format C (killing self to restore allies).
Stats: Low defensively/physically, high magically.

Kit:

Weapon: (Energy) Sword
Element: Orange (weak to Blue)
Party role: Primarily physical attack, secondary buffs. A NINJA!
Personality: Gung-ho, rushes into things, excited about prospects of adventure and treasure.
Abilities: Sun and fire elemental skills and a few spells. Mostly physical attacks with varying effects (attacks first, doesn’t miss, whatever). Can buff own stats and eventually other party members.
Stats: Focused on attack and speed. Average magic, low defense.

Vuley:

Weapon: Bow / Oddities
Element: Purple (weak to Yellow)
Party role: Status and some support.
Personality: Quiet and mysterious. Dark and broody when applicable. For laughs.
Abilities: Causes various status effects and lowers statistics. For example: poison, defense down.
Stats: Emphasis on speed and defense stats. Pretty weird.

Noisee/Hazel:

Weapon: Instruments
Element: Blue (weak to Orange)
Party role: Healer and support
Personality: :3
Abilities: Healing, curing status, reviving, very little in terms of offense.
Stats: Defense and magic.

Ian:

Weapon: Rapier
Element: Green (weak to Red)
Party role: Defensive physical attacker
Personality: Cautious, natural leader type.
Abilities: Defensive party buffs, e.g. raising defense and magic and speed. Some healing. Some attacks.
Stats: HP, defense, some attack

Kyle:

Weapon: Art utensils
Element: Yellow (weak to Purple)
Party role: Fast but weak, “like kit but different” somehow
Personality: Awesomely sarcastic asshole who doesn’t like purple gift wrap.
Abilities: Heck if I know
Stats: Speed?

Roahm:
Weapon: Katana
Element: Blue (weak to Orange)
Party role: Red mage, fulfilling all sorts of roles with spells.
Personality: Distracted by shinies, nice and thoughtful, less intimidating than he looks?
Abilities: All sorts of spells, but heavily limited in what element they are.
Stats: Average attack and defense, good magic and slowish.

Pink:

Weapon: Hammer
Element: Red (weak to Green)
Party role: SMASH AND BASH
Personality: Cold to strangers, but nobody is really a stranger so…
Abilities: Powerful physical attacks, and self-serving supportive abilities.
Stats: HUGE POWER! Slow.

Nick:

Weapon:
Element: Green (weak to Red)
Party role: Noisee but different
Personality: The politest person ever.
Abilities: Support.

Jan. 9th, 2010 @ 02:43 am The Nerdiest Beatles Song Parody
About this Entry
CP Dojo
This is the only place I can think of to post this for people who don't have facebook to see.
It's a parody of The Beatles song Maxwell's Silver Hammer. About Super Mario RPG. So yeah.

---

It's a Mario adventure full, of items astronomical
Seven all in all
To collect them is your goal so you'll save the
Wor-or-or-old.

Smithy wants 'em all, to build his weapon arsenal
Shatters the star road.
Smashing the abode of our hero,
Ge-e-e-no.

Crowns himself the king of the keep,
And thinks he's unopposed.

Bang! Bang! Mario's big hammer
comes down upon his foes!
Clang! Clang! Watch out for his hammer
Timed hits are what he knows!

Smithy's minion is a bitch, that nasty old Yaridovich
He's taken Seaside Town
The townsfolk aren't around, where could they
be-e-e-e?

Johnny in the sea below gives his star to Mario
He tells him they are cool
But Mario plays the fool, gives it to the
fo-o-o-oe.

The fake toads combine together to form,
The next boss fight in line.

Bang! Bang! Mario's big hammer
comes down upon his foe!
Clang! Clang! Watch out for his hammer
Timed hits are what he knows!

This dungeon is the final one, but the fight has just begun
Smithy still remains
Making even more of his weapons
Oh, no-o-o.

Mario and party, rush in to collect the piece
Say it must be free
(Give that star to me)
Smithy does not agree and the battle
Go-o-o-oes.

Smithy is defeated with ease,
He reveals his second form.

Bang! Bang! Mario's big hammer
Comes down upon his foe
Clang! Clang! Watch out for his hammer
Timed hits are what he knows!

Mario Hammer Ma, a, an!
